Got the ch341 programmer, flash z370 port bios I got from @svarmod into my Asus z270F with i9 9900k.
Does this seem alright?
Yes, 8 cores 16 threads, although that version of CPU-Z is very old and doesn’t recognise the 9900K correctly (it says Kaby Lake instead of Coffee Lake and is missing Revision R0).
You are right. Used the new one and now it shows Coffee Lake.
I am benchmarking and testing various things to get a stable system.
One thing that caught my eye is the low score on Cinebench R20.
On stock clock, I got 4xxx instead 5000+ like what others do.
I am using NH-D15 cooler but still working to improve on the airflow.
Is there anything else I should take a look. Voltage? VRM temp?
Also, the RGB on motherboard is not working and completely off. Probably due to the fact that I use z370f mod bios on z270f.

mine is 9400F here is U0 on z270f working like a charm

Or the self-modded z270f, if so, which version?

update:
Check the LED EC version / LED EC2 version and nothing show up. Perhap @svarmod could take a look here.
I think the idea is to put the LED firmware portion from Z270f in the Z370F port bios.

I’m pretty noobish at this stuff. I have flashed a z170m OCF in the past with great luck.
Trying to get a Asus z170-a running coffee i5 8400
I created the new bios using the tool.
Flashed with fpt in windows
Flash seemed successful but after reboot no post. Using it 6600k bios ver 2202
The board means nothing to me. If its bricked so be it.
I’d like to be successful at this mod tho. Any insight as to where I failed? Gonna get a USB flasher. I wanna try again with success

It is good to hear that the stock bios also work.
I reckon someone say that all 16 thread of 9900k might not working if I don’t use the 370f port. At least that is what it says in CoffeeTime tool warning.
Anyway, I can live without RGB for now since I saved a few buck keeping my old mb.

I have flashed the biosmod for coffelake but when I installed the i5 8400 Rev U0 it wouldn’t turn on.
does it have to be the bios port of b360?
