@reactive - Yes, I don’t know what would be helpful to you there either, I just meant for you to find and scan through it for anything that caught your eye
Also, look through the rest of the BIOS, anything you see that you need and it’s missing from view in BIOS let me know and I can make visible for you.
The unlocked settings I made for that BIOS we based your edit on were only a few reveals to cover some of the mentioned settings in the Coffee Guide at overclockers.ru, but you may want others things too.
@coppermine500 - Why not just isolate all shown in RED/Blue this image? Same as “A” I believe, that’s what I’ve done on a few Gigabyte Z170/B1xx, no connect pads needed either
@chinobino
Do you have any video guide ? Or a photo guide step by step ?
I scare to damage my cpu
Idk how do this
@Lost_N_BIOS : enabled HT but it stucks at bootlogo again. Had to reset via clearrtc-jumper, no flash reprogramming was necessary.
Unfortunately I didn’t received an answer on Rog forum from spartan_hoplite…
When we want to try a backport, could be the bios from G20Ci successor G21CX an option? It has a Z370.
@reactive - then it maybe not only tied to power delivery that causes the boot fail once HT enabled. Great to see clear CMOS reset disabled HT again for you as we intended with the mod
It’s possible @dsanke could maybe help, if you talk to him about it, be sure he looks at your mod you did on previous page, so he knows more power delivery is now possible.
G21CX may be possible to use, but not sure if you can H270 << Z370?
@Lost_N_BIOS
Hi
My firend have a i3-9100f (SRF6N ) on asus prime Z270-A but without any isolation !
1 - How it is possible ?!
2 - And i have biostar B250GT3 , if i run i3 9100F (SRF6N ) without isolation maybe damage my cpu or motherboard or something else ?is it dangerous ?!
Thanks for your help
@dsanke : We modified the BIOS to run with an I9 9900k (R0). In addition I did a hardware hack, to deliver more power to the main core rail to avoid temperature issues and damage to the FETs. Look here: [TOOL] Easy automated Mod tool for Coffee Lake bios (79) .
So I can drive it with 95w and above package power and runs stable at around 65⁰C at 100% load (8c/8t).
But it runs only with HT disabled. Enabling HT results in stuck at bootlogo.
Do you have any suggestions to get it run with HT enabled. On Asus Rog forum someone got it run with HT enabled. Unfortunately he does not react on my mails.
Cheers
@MrCjxer - Maybe he’s lucky and socket is not damaged? Maybe he’s not being honest? I don’t know, I only know to follow known working guides/methods, and pads should be isolated per those known things.
Same on your Biostar, maybe your lucky and socket is OK, then nothing more to do
@reactive - link the current mod BIOS you are using in the above post, in case dsanke does take a look for you
@Lost_N_B
I was also surprised that it turned on without isolation and it is Not dameged !
And he is honest to me .
Edit : i should say he moded with coffeeTime Tool
But you didn’t say , not isolation is dangerous ?! Maybe damage my cpu or motherboard or something else ?!
@MrCjxer - OK, well then if someone with same board as you said no isolation needed, then it should be OK and you just need proper mod BIOS
If you need me to make you proper BIOS let me know and tell me old CPU model and new CPU SSPEC, along with BIOS dump and or link to stock BIOS download page.
Look for discussion in past few pages, we discuss possible damage and how/when it happens. You should be OK, since as you mentioned, friend is honest w/ you and same board no isolation is OK
Most Asus do not need isolation. In general, only AJ30 and AK27 are at risk on Asus, but apparently the only get voltage applied in some high end overclocker designs. I have red reports of problems with Maximus Extreme and the like, but I myself got no damages on Z170 Sabertooth and Ranger. So I would guess (though never bet my hardware ^^) that any Prime should be fine without. Sadly, shorting AB35 and AC35 is needed on afaik all Asus, otherwise their cheaper offers would be plug’n’play.
Biostar is used by very few modders, so there are not a lot of experiences. General recommendations are more extensive than even for Gigabyte, so better safe than sorry. See Coffee Time matrix postet be Lost_N_BIOS
t3987f16-TOOL-Easy-automated-Mod-tool-for-Coffee-Lake-bios-78.html#msg119237#msg119237
However: There are a lot of i3 9000 which do use an almost unchanged Skylake package. These do not to be isolated anywhere, physical they are "all 1151" CPUs. I am not quite sure about product numbers, though, so someone else has to tell whether you got the right one. (earlier = more likely = "F" might be something different). Risk of missing isolation could be high in your case. Auxilliary contacts like AJ30 and K27 carry low currents if at all; shorting these will usually ony melt the fixture of these pins themselves until the loose contact. Several MOCF were "automodded" this way by accident. However the F-L 30’s (in the upper right of Lost_N_BIOS’ post) are a dense mesh of VCCin and GND contacts. If these are not isolated by design or by user, they can reroute a tremendous amounts of current and svarmod has told me of blown voltage regulators du to such a short.
The CPUs are astonishing robust. People have melted sockets and blown MOSFETs, but the CPU came out fine because all problems are only due to the substrate, not the delicate silicon inside. Still, better save than sorry and one probably does not take the effort if one wants to buy a new board…
@Lost_N_BIOS
@PCGH_Torsten
thanks guys for your help . i will never test without isolation . MB so expensive here
@Lost_N_BIOS maybe i need some help for BIOS mod .
this BIOS moded with AIO Tool by revlaay :

this BIOS moded with CoffeeTime by svarmod :
http://s13.picofile.com/file/8404126584/Capture4.PNG
1 - both with Regions lock . but in coffeTime tool mod i can’t see any " MOD by svarmod "or something in information .Does that mean it has a problem?
if you need to check moded bios file , i can send them for you .
2 - and how can i check/extract current bios file micro codes ?
thanks again
@MrCjxer - If you want me to mod BIOS for you I need the info I requested above for each board - old CPU model and new CPU SSPEC, along with BIOS dump and or link to stock BIOS download page. If you are flashing with flash programmer or FPT, then sending me dump is required.
What you provided above has nothing to do with any of this. No, I don’t need to check mod BIOS, that’s a hassle and I’d rather just make BIOS instead, but if you want me to just check first I can do a quick look (need mod BIOS + Link to stock BIOS download page)
Microcodes? You can check what microcode are in BIOS by dropping BIOS into MC Extractor, but this has very little to do with coffee CPU working or not. Of course they need to be there, but MANY other things need to be correct as well
@Lost_N_BIOS
you are so nice to me <3 thanks
i have i3 7100 now ( SR35C )
and i order i3 9100F from internet . It is not yet known which version it is, but it is probably version SRF6N . but i think we can write 906EB and 906EA microcode on BIOS file . even 906EC . right ?
this BIOS moded with AIO Tool by revlaay : (I flashed it a few days ago and worked fine with i3 7100 )

this is the original BIOS from Biostar website :
https://download.biostar.com.tw/upload/D…/biosupdate.zip
if you can check my moded BIOS , please check because i like to learn it
if you can’t / don’t like check them , just mod the original bios file for me
thaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you so much and so so so sorry for my English
@MrCjxer - Thanks
Best we wait then, since you do not even have Coffee CPU yet, your mod BIOS may be OK/Fine since it’s booting with other CPU right now.
@Lost_N_BIOS
HI bro
My CPU has arrived and it is SRF6N
i have i3 7100 now ( SR35C )
new cpu i3 9100F ( SRF6N )
can you help me now ?
thanks

hi again
is that ok for Biostar B250GT3 ?
Has anyone tested 128GB of memory on an Asus z170 board?
I have a 9900K P0 running on an Asus Z170 Maximus VIII Formula with HT enabled using the 2202 bios without an issue. If you’re not using a z170 Asus board follow this guide: [GUIDE] Fixing HT for Coffee Lake CPUs on Skylake and Kaby Lake motherboards (Z170, Z270)

@Lost_N_BIOS
Hi
I moded my motherboard (Biostar B250GT3) BIOS
And pinmode my CPU (i3 9100F) (SRF6N)
But when i trun on PC with i3 9100F , after 10sec The system shuts down
What is the problem?
Note : The i3 9100F CPU temperature rises when I turn it on and I work with i3 7100 CPU
Thanks for your help
