@htpcfans Does the FIT version matter?
I did not found successful case Asrock Z170a-x1/3.1 supports E3v5 in China.What was your bios version modified for E3v5 ? The last version supports E3v5 is 2.2 and 1.5 support SkyOC. If your bios version is correct, this motherboard does not support E3v5.
The version of FIT is just the one version Intel corporation released.
I am not a seller and my main force PC is Asrock + E5 1660 v4(From ali taobao,2100 ￥Yuan,PreQS ES,does not show correct model),8C16T,OC 4.1G-1&2C,4.0G-3&4C,3.6G-5&6C,3.4G-7&8C,intel fan heat sink,very stable. My second PC is lenovo X99(from ali taobao,650 ￥Yuan,is actually P410 Station Motherboard ）+E5 2620 v4(from ali taobao,699 ￥Yuan,PreQS ES,does not show correct model),8C16T,2.1G-3.0G,also very stable.I still have a E3v3 2.6G(4C8T) ES ,a E3 1235l V5,a I3 6300,a I3 4330 es a G4500T es a G4920 es and some motherboards.My PC is situated at serveal houses.
Most of E3v5 buyer could be players,I guess.
If you are at China,i can give you some suggestions buying PC.
Recently my interest is Xeon LGA3647,many CPU is very cheap.The matching motherboard is expensive. I want buy a XEON es 8C16T (2.4G-3.2G,700 ￥yuan) or 16C32T(1.8G-3.2G,1600￥yuan).
@htpcfans Sorry! I don’t understand. Are you saying that the version 2.2 supports E3v5? I modified the 1.5 version. MOBO came with the 2.0 version and SkyOC was working fine. So maybe there is hope…?
The 2.2 version does still support BCLK OC. It has mCode revision 74 and ME version 11.0.0.1180. Tomorrow my Xeon E3 1270v5 arrive and maybe the CH341A USB Programmer.
My suggestion is modifying from 1.1 to 2.2 one by one. 2.2 is the last.Now you could do with the help of CH341A USB Programmer.
The second thing is the MAC address.
The mCode revision is not very important.
OK! I think that, if i not wrong mCode revision 74 is the last to support BCLK OC.

If the bios(motherboard) supports E3v5 has no relation with mCode,also SkyOC has no relation with mCode.I had run E3v5 with cpu506E3_plat36_ver000000C2_2017-11-16_PRD_328B43AF.bin on ASUS Z170I Pro gaming.
But The E3 v5 ES 2.6G needs the different mCode,as is 506e1 or 506e0. Simply,the function of mCode almost is recognizing the CPU.
No matter,mCode.
@htpcfans My Xeon E3 1270v5 arrive and the CH341A USB Programmer too. Did flash moded bios with the Programmer but no luck. PC turn on…1~2s turn off keep repeating this cycle. I think am missing something.
Tested with 1.10, 1.50 and 2.20 not working. Turn on and off, on and off.
@htpcfans I use ME_Cleaner flash the new clean bios with CH341A Programmer and now the PC boots, on bios the ME version is 0.0.0.0 but it doesn’t boot with Xeon E3 1270v5, turn on and off and stay off.
So i did 3 bios, one with Me_Cleaner, it boots shows ME 0.0.0.0 on BIOS but doesn’t boot with the E3 1270v5. One with MeAltDisable bit set and another one with Me_Cleaner and MeAltDisable bit set. None work, PC turn on and off and keep repeating that.

@htpcfans Do you think that Asrock z170 pro4 could work with this mod? What motherboards do you that work for sure with this? I’m bit afraid with Asrock, since it is not working with the z170a-x1/3.1.
