Thanks for having at least answered my questions from November 2013.
It is not easy to understand, why you are running your RAID0 system with the brandnew RST(e) drivers v13.2 in combination with the old Intel RST RAID ROM v11.5.0.1414.

Been busy working out of town and haven’t had time to get back to modding in some time. Will be updating the orom to the latest that I have 13.2.0.2134 soon. Intel RST(e) v13.2 works well with the current v11.5.5.1414 orom. If you can direct me to someone who can help with the Gigabyte any help would be appreciated.

Optional: Disks are 2 x Samsung 830 128GB as Raid 0 plus 1 x Samsung 830 64GB as single AHCI
Updated RST driver first to v12.9.4.1000 (from 12.8.0.1016) as recommended.
Installed BIOS was MSI v4.3, which included RAID ROM v10.5.0.1034
Used the MSI BIOS mflash utility to save a copy of the installed BIOS to USB stick and then modified this rather than the v4.3 downloaded from the MSI site (different sizes)
Used the MSI BIOS mflash utility to flash the modified BIOS - note that this appears to need a particular filename - E7750IMS.ver where ver is a numeric version number (I used 431)
Left the original RST application v12.8.0.1016 installed

Many, many thanks to the guys who’ve done all the hard work to investigate this problem and come up with solutions. It’s taken me a while to work through the guides and posts and understand what my setup is and what I needed to do - hopefully this will restore the performance of my PC to somewhere near what it was when new!

MSI doesn’t list such mainboard on their web sites (only Z68A-G43 and Z68MA-G43).
Please post the exact model name.

That was not a good idea, because the Intel RST application should match the Intel RST RAID driver version (here: v12.9.4.1000).
I recommend to uninstall the RST Software v12.8.0.1016, to reboot and then to install the Intel RST Software v12.9.4.1000.

Additional questions:

  1. Why didn’t you mention TRIM in RAID0 support?
  2. Did you insert the original or the TRIM modded Intel RST RAID ROM v12.9.0.1006?
  3. Is TRIM in RAID0 working now?

Success: Yes. Successfully installed. Trimcheck.exe suggested that trim was working on the single SSD (see below) prior to the update but not the RAID 0 pair. Post update appears to be working on all SSDs.
Optional: Processor is I7 2600K overclocked to 4.0GHz
Disks are 2 x Samsung 830 128GB as Raid 0 plus 1 x Samsung 830 64GB as single AHCI

At first left the original RST application v12.8.0.1016 installed but subsequently updated to v12.9.4.1000. Advice from Fernando was that I should have updated this and the driver at the same time as a matching pair.
It has now been three days since I made this mod and performance does appear to have improved. Shutdown time is noticeably quicker and general responsiveness has improved. I’ve yet to run any video conversions.

A couple questions for you gents, if you don’t mind helping me out…

I am attempting to get my asus commando bios updated and having issues…when I try and update the intel raid rom to 10.1.0.1008 I get the error the the size is too large. I haven’t even tried doing the other orom updates…Lurch228, you have had grea tsuccess and I’m wondering how you achieved this or if you have any pointers… I just want to get the Asus 2.1 SLIC and Intel Raid ROM done…If I can get the J-Micron and the Marvel, that would just be bonus… I am running this machine with 2 Raptor 150’s and no SSD’s so 10.1.0.1008 would suffice, 11.2.0.1006 would be even better if it would fit…I want to use the classical driver and ASUS 2.1 SLIC…as mentioned…others are pure bonus… Can one of you fine gents help me out?

Have you already tried to remove the ASUS logo bitmap from the BIOS to get more space for the ROM modules?
Furthermore I would rather like to know the original Intel RAID ROM version of the BIOS.
A link to the BIOS would be fine as well.

I have tried to remove it, unless I’m removing the wrong module… it wasn’t enough… There has gotta to be an easy way that I am missing as its already been done with the latest versions which are much larger than the one I’m trying to get in there… and between HP and Asus Slic, there can’t be a major size difference…
