Win XP SP3 32bit driver for Intel HD Graphics 4600 (on MB GA-Z97-HD3 and CPU Intel Haswell Refresh Core i5-4690K)

Hi Fernando,

I know you are dedicated mostly to modd AHCI and BIOS drivers. All I’m asking is some advice on how to modify myself the driver for Graphic Card, so that I’ll make it functional.

After spending some weeks looking for an Intel 9 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller DEV_8C82 driver for Win XP SP3, I end up on your website and to my surprise your package “Intel 11.2 ahci Driver modded by Fernando” really worked.

The most important driver I don’t have is the video driver. Unfortunately I tried all available video drivers for Intel Haswell HD Graphics 4600 for Windows XP that can be found from google including: 6.14.10.5437 (14.51.11.5437), 6.14.10.5441 (14.56.0.5441), 6.14.10.5445 (14.56.0.5445), 6.14.10.5449 (14.56.0.5449) and all resulted in BSoD. I looked on them and all support my Device ID. Really strange.
Intel says there is no official support for XP and Haswells.

Intel Haswell HD Graphics 4600 GT2 DEV_0412
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0412&SUBSYS_D0001458&REV_06\3&11583659&0&10

Device Instance ID (HwID):
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0412

I attached a crash log saved with BlueScreenView from Windows Dump Folder generated by installing latest Intel Haswell XP Driver 14.56.0.5449.

I guess it might work if I install the driver by using a modified version of the .INF file. I need a modded inf, but I don’t know how to do it.
Please help me.

Thank you Fernando.

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

That is not strange, because the text of the related original INF files determines exactly, which Windows Operating Systems are supported and which not.
As an example here is an excerpt of an INF file named igdhl.inf v10.18.10.4358 dated 12/21/2015:

OS support of drivers.png

So if you want to get all Windows Operating Systems from Windows XP up or just Windows XP (internal name: “NTx86.5.1”) supported, you have to change the related entries. Whatever you will do, there is no certainty, that such modded graphics driver really will work with Windows XP.

That is all, what I can do for you regarding your special problem. I don’t have the required time to take care of XP compatible drivers for modern graphics adapters.

Hi Fernando,

I tried to search for the latest driver version that support XP for Intel HD Graphics 4600, witch is version 6.14.10.5449 (aka 14.56.0.5449) - for desktop PC, made on 2014-02-28.

There is no issue with the supported OS in the inf file, it’s the right one: NTx86.5.1. I’ll attach the inf file from the driver found, maybe you will figure out what else might be modded (igxp32.inf.txt).

Also I have attached the inf file from the Windows 7 x86 for Intel HD Graphics 4600 that works on my hardware configuration (igdlh.inf.txt).
I know that my hardware configuration is newer than the last driver made for XP in 2014, but on many forums members said that with the right modification the old drivers can be made to work on the latest hardware (eg drivers for GTX 960 for XP can be made to work on GTX 970 or GTX 980).

This is an article that said “Intel has just released a Windows XP-compatible update targeted only at its 4th generation Core CPUs that benefit from a HD Graphics chipset, namely version 6.14.10.5449, which include a huge number of fixes regarding flickering, corruptions, and more.” (http://drivers.softpedia.com/blog/Intel-…XP-360898.shtml)

My CPU is of 4th Generation Intel Core CPUs Family. I noticed that you also haved an Windows 8.1 with Intel HD Graphics 4600 drivers. I hope you will take a look on those inf files. Maybe there is a solution.
Thank you.

Regards,
Augustin

igxp32.inf.txt (73.5 KB)

igdlh.inf.txt (410 KB)

According to what I have seen within the file named igdlh.inf the related Intel graphics driver v6.14.10.5449 should work as it is with your system even while running Windows XP.
Have you already tried it?

I am sorry, but I cannot help you with this.

Windows XP Forever

Thank you for your work.

There is a driver for Intel HD 4600, provided by Intel:
https://downloadmirror.intel.com/22875/eng/WinXP32.zip
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloa…d?product=81503

I installed it on my Dell e6540. It works but don’t really need it, the native XP driver operates the video card just fine.

My question:
Is there an AHCI driver that works with Dell e6540, Haswell 4800mq cpu, Mobile Intel QM87 Express chipset ? (and where to download?)
The driver I managed to download from this site, installs and shows in the device manager, but if I set BIOS to AHCI, it is blue screen.

@789 :
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum and thanks for your info about and links to existing Intel graphics drivers for Windows XP!

Yes, you will find a suitable AHCI driver within the the start posts of >this< or >this< thread (depending on the OS you are running and the DeviceID of your on-board Intel SATA AHCI Controller).

This indicates, that you have chosen either a wrong driver or the support of a wrong Intel SATA AHCI Controller.
Please post your reply and further questions into the matching Sub-Forum and threads.
